An SMS reminder will be sent one week prior to your scheduled appointment. If you prefer not to receive SMS reminders, please contact our administration team to discuss alternative arrangements.
Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
At Wollongong Psychological Medicine, we prioritise exceptional practitioners whose schedules are often fully booked well in advance. Each appointment slot is reserved exclusively for you, and if you need to reschedule, it’s important to remember that another patient may be waiting for the opportunity.
To ensure a smooth process, we kindly request that you notify us of any changes at least two full business days prior to your scheduled appointment.
- Please note: The day of the appointment is not included in the notice period.
For example, if your appointment is on Thursday, notice must be given by 5:00 PM AEST on the preceding Monday. - All cancellation or rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing via email to ensure accurate documentation of the request time.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than two full business days’ notice will not be eligible for a refund.
Non-Attendance Policy
If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment for any reason, including technical issues on your end, you will be charged the full cost of the appointment. No refunds will be provided, and any fees paid will be forfeited.
In the event of outstanding charges, an invoice will be generated in your name.
Refunds
Refunds are not available for attended appointments, regardless of the outcome of the consultation or assessment.
Correspondence
Following your consultation, a comprehensive letter is typically sent to your referring doctor by the treating psychiatrist.
Please discuss the expected timeframe for this correspondence during your appointment. While reports are generally forwarded within two weeks, this may vary depending on the nature of the assessment.
Some assessments may require multiple appointments, and in such cases, the report will only be provided once the assessment process is complete.
If you request that the report be sent to a different healthcare provider after your consultation, administration fees will apply.
To proceed with this request, you will be asked to:
- Complete a Consent to Transfer Form
- Authorise the administration fee via debit/credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT)
Please note: Medicare rebates do not apply to administration fees, cancellation fees, or non-attendance charges.
