Fees

Wollongong Psychological Medicine is a private billing practice. Our administration team is available to assist you in understanding the cost of psychiatric appointments prior to your attendance.

Payment terms

  • For initial Consultation a deposit of $100 is required at least a week prior to your appointment.
  • The remaining balance must be paid on the day of the appointment. This ensures that funds are cleared in time for Medicare rebate claims to be processed promptly.

Non-payment policy

Failure to make payment as required will result in cancellation of the appointment, and a cancellation fee will apply.

Medicare and Private Billing

  • Patients without a valid Medicare card, or those undergoing assessments not eligible for Medicare rebates, will be charged privately.
  • In such cases, full payment is required at the time of booking.

For further information regarding fees and billing, please contact our administration team at reception@wolpsychmed.com.au.

Consultation Fees and Medicare Rebates

Effective 1st January 2025, Wollongong Psychological Medicine will no longer accept gap payments. The full consultation fee is payable on the day of your appointment.

Following payment, your Medicare rebate will be processed instantly via Easyclaim through our EFTPOS terminal. In most cases, the rebate is deposited directly into your bank account immediately.

Additional Fees

Please note that the completion of certain reports, assessments, and paperwork—may incur additional fees, as these require extended consultation time.
